I approach my career as I do life, taking in every new opportunity as a new horizon to explore and grow from. My personal life statement is simple and direct: I strive to be a blessing and of service to all those I encounter on my journey in life.
I am native of Los Angeles, California, growing up in the inner-city community of Watts. I am an entrepreneur, President of Nosotros, the oldest Latino Arts Advocacy non-profit founded by the iconic Ricardo Montalbán in 1970, and I am a seasoned award-winning Producer, with over 15+ years experience.
After years of corporate 9 to 5 jobs I had to maintain in order to provide my family, I started late in my film career; but I never gave up on my desires to develop, create, and to produce stories that empower, enrich and entertain. My first feature films “Followed Home” and “Exorcist: Prayers in the Dark”, (made on the budgets comparable to the cost of a used car – with no engine!) are both still available on many digital platforms and box retailers today as great examples of “no-budget” filmmaking. After further honing my skills producing micro-budget films for-hire, my reputation grew as the go-to producer for micro budgets. In 2014, I formed formed Action Faith Media to developed and produce films closer to my heart, with my first film “Crave: The Fast Life”, a faith-crossover film set in the Los Angeles Nightlife, winning over (22) awards world-wide, and continues to be in the top 20 trending Faith/Latino films on Amazon Video. Other notable Action Faith Media releases include “Riding Faith”, “Redeemed”, “Blanco”, “My Brother’s Keeper,” which was nominated for the coveted CMA Dove Award in 2022. And most recently “Born & Raised” for BETOriginals.
I am a proud member of the Producers Guild of America, my career includes developing and managing high-profile Film, Television, and other digital media (and live events) projects. My ability to problem solve, think clearly in stressful situations and continually going above and beyond on every production has earned me the respect and admiration from my fellow industry professionals.
I served as SVP, Head of Latinx Content and Physical Production for Confluential Films founded by producer/director Tommy Oliver (Netflix’s “The Perfect Find”). I produced the much anticipated HBO documentary “Juice Wrld”(yes spelled correctly), “Die Like A Man” starring Cory Hardrict, and prior to leaving my position there, I led the development of “The Cola Wars,” the true story behind the Coke vs. Pepsi battle of the 1980’s.
Most recently, with strong funding out of Texas I launched Untold Content Group, a full-service developing, production and financing company dedicated to producing compelling character-driven Film, Television and Podcast projects that are diverse, authentic and culturally reflective of today’s global audience.
In the spirit of collaboration and networking, I am always ready and willing to share my resources and knowledge: I am often asked to speak nationally, I am a board-member of the International Christian Film Festival in Orlando, a mentor for the Los Angeles Film Connection program , and I proudly serve on various steering committees for the Producers Guild of America.
On a personal note, I am all about Briskets, Bourbons and Cigars! I am a certified/bonafide Pit Master and make a mean Brisket, so check me out @10EastCraftBarbecue to find out where I’ll pop up next. It’s a hobby I love and do for shoots and ladders – simple fun!
I reside just outside Hollywood in the beautiful city of trees with my loving family and our American Bully JB-Cowboy.
I am always open to collaborating on a great project. Feel free to contact me.
